The embassy announced that the meeting took place following Duman's recent visit to Washington.

The United States Embassy in Tirana today distributed a clear message of support for SPAK and BKH, emphasizing that the partnership between Albanian justice institutions and American agencies remains essential in the fight against organized crime and high-level corruption.

Chargé d’Affaires Nancy VanHorn met with Special Prosecutor Altin Dumani to discuss the challenges of the investigations conducted by SPAK and how cooperation with international partners, particularly the United States, can strengthen concrete results. The focus was on issues related to disrupting transnational criminal organizations, combating terrorism, and drug trafficking.

The embassy announced that the meeting took place following Duman's recent visit to Washington, where he was received by senior officials from the State Department and the Department of Justice.

Charge d’Affaires Nancy VanHorn and SPAK’s Chief Special Prosecutor, Altin Dumani, met today to discuss SPAK and BKH’s courageous work in cooperation with U.S. law enforcement agencies to combat organized crime, terrorism, and drug trafficking. They also discussed Mr. Dumani’s recent meetings in Washington with Trump Administration officials at the Department of State and the Department of Justice. The United States is proud to partner with SPAK on our shared priorities to crack down on dangerous international criminal organizations that threaten the security of the United States and Albania ,” the embassy announced.

This stance comes at a time when SPAK is conducting sensitive investigations into high-ranking officials and criminal networks in the country, while public pressure on justice has increased. The US message is seen as a strong political and diplomatic signal, aimed at strengthening trust in the new justice institutions and showing that there is no turning back from justice reform.
