
The citizens of Durrës have again taken to the streets today to protest the massive floods.
Citizens expressed their dissatisfaction with the municipality's management of the situation. One of the protesters said that he is demanding his rights and emphasized that his house was flooded. Regarding the flood, he emphasized that they have not received any compensation.
"I came out today to protest and demand my rights. My house was flooded. My house is near the prison. No one has come. We have notified them, but they are waiting for the water to recede. I ask the Durrës municipality to be close to the citizens. Everyone is in the water. This is the third time we have been flooded, and we have not received any compensation ," said a citizen.
While another citizen states that all the water that has entered the yard is cholera and emphasizes that they are surrounded by sewage pipes. They demand more concrete and immediate actions from institutions to prevent damage to homes and businesses.
"We are flooded. All the water in the yard is cholera. We are surrounded by sewage pipes. You have to go by boat. We want justice. They should come and open the sewers," said a citizen.
