Political scientist Ilir Kalemaj has stated that the introduction of MPs from the "MP We Want" platform and gender quotas are just a facade that covers other phenomena, where most of the candidates are anonymous and SP militants.
Kalemaj points out that the new MPs have no work experience, limited knowledge of the law, and poor academic background.
" At first glance, it seems that a good part of those new MPs come from 'The MP we want', if we look at gender representation we see that we have adequate representation, but this is just a facade, if we scratch it we see other phenomena. Most of the candidacies promoted by Rama are not new, in the sense that they come from the academic world, civil society, the media, but they are from the public anonymity and militancy of the SP.
Exceptions are rare, one candidate in Durrës Loer Kume, Neomalësorja, while the rest are part of the PS structures, without work and life experience. They have been ridiculed during the campaign as we saw in the case of Zegjine from Fier, who could have been a tallava, but to be an MP... We have a decline in parliamentary quality, in several Parliaments in a row.
Today the percentage of businessmen has gone from ¼ to ¾. Mr. Rama with 83 mandates as a deputy, plus 3 in readiness, does not need any parliamentary debate, and there are very few deputies with legislative experience. Most have academic backgrounds. We have a weakening of the legislature, and an overlap of the executive, and a sense of vertical decision-making.
