The head of the office of the 'Friedrich Ebert Foundation' in Tirana, Katharina Hofmann De Maura, seems to have regretted her writing a few days ago. Through an article written in the "Ipg-journal", she attacked Rama and the European Union.
In that article, she attacked the Rama-Meloni pact, saying that the EU is turning a blind eye to developments in Albania, mentioning drugs, crime, and trafficking. But such statements seem to have perhaps caused her to turn a deaf ear, and she reacted by accusing the media of misinformation.

In my capacity as representative of the Friedrich Ebert Foundation in Albania, I would like to publicly react to several recent media publications, which have distorted and misinterpreted my article, incorrectly referring to it as a "German analysis".
The article in question was written by me in my personal capacity as a freelance writer for IPS Magazine, as I have done with other contributions in the past. It does not represent an official position of the Friedrich Ebert Foundation.
It is concerning to note that out-of-context content, manipulated titles and translations are being used to construct narratives that are completely at odds with our work or positions. Even more problematic is that these materials are being used for clear political and electoral purposes, misusing the Foundation's name and reputation.
I would like to emphasize strongly that neither I personally, nor the Foundation I represent, have given any public position supporting or opposing certain political forces in Albania. Every analysis or publication of the Friedrich Ebert Foundation is published transparently, through our official channels, and in accordance with the highest standards of impartiality, professionalism and commitment to democracy.
I completely distance myself from any manipulated or misinterpreted content, as well as from any attempt to instrumentalize the Foundation's name for electoral purposes.
