The State Police, in collaboration with the Guardia di Finanza, has officially launched the joint campaign for aerial monitoring of the Albanian territory, as part of the fight against the cultivation of narcotics. This operation is being carried out for the 15th year in a row.
The opening ceremony was held at the premises of the General Directorate of the State Police, where the Italian delegation was received by the Director General of the Police, Skender Hita.
The Guardia di Finanza delegation was led by Lorenzo Bucossi, head of the Service for International Police Cooperation.
According to the State Police announcement, the "Air Monitoring 2026" operation will have several new elements compared to previous years. These include an increase in the number of flights and monitoring hours, the engagement of more personnel, and the use of the most modern technologies for aerial control of the territory.
In his speech, Skender Hita stated that the fight against narcotics remains an important priority for the security and future of the country. He praised the cooperation with the Italian authorities, describing it as a successful model in operational and strategic terms.
According to him, the use of advanced technology and coordination between Albanian and Italian structures have helped in the faster identification of risk areas and in more efficient interventions in the field, contributing to the reduction of cases of cultivation of narcotic plants.

The Italian delegation, welcomed at the premises of the General Directorate of the State Police, by the Director General Madhor Skender Hita, was led by Senior Manager Lorenzo Bucossi, Director of the Service for International Police Cooperation.
Gjatë fjalës së mbajtur në ceremoninë e çeljes së fushatës, Drejtori Hita vlerësoi bashkëpunimin me partnerët italianë si një model strategjik dhe të konsoliduar, i cili ka sjellë rezultate konkrete në parandalimin e kultivimit të bimëve narkotike. Ai theksoi se ndërthurja e kapaciteteve operacionale, ekspertizës dhe teknologjisë ka mundësuar identifikim të hershëm të zonave me risk, ndërhyrje më efikase në terren dhe ulje të ndjeshme të rasteve të konstatuara dhe bimëve narkotike të asgjësuara, duke konfirmuar efektivitetin e qasjes parandaluese dhe bashkëpunimit ndërkombëtar.
Ndërkaq, z. Bucossi, gjatë fjalës së tij, vlerësoi ecurinë e bashkëpunimit që tashmë është kthyer në një traditë model të partnertitetit policor.
Gjithashtu, ftoi Drejtorin e Përgjithshëm, për një vizitë zyrtare në Itali, si dëshmi e angazhimit dhe vullnetit të përbashkët, për ta intensifikuar më tej këtë bashkëpunim të bazuar në profesionalizëm dhe besim.
Më tej, Gjeneral Brigade Franzese, i kënaqur për rezultatet e arrira gjatë fushatave për monitorimin ajror, theksoi se Policia e Shtetit ka qenë gjithmonë e gatshme për të verifikuar shpejt, çdo koordinatë të raportuar nga shërbimet e GDF-së, dhe për të ndërhyrë për asgjësimin, në çdo rast të kultivimit të bimëve narkotike.
