The Council of Ministers today appointed Skënder Hita as head of the State Police.
Until this decision, Hita led the Fier Police and was considered one of the most experienced leaders in the blue uniform structures.
He has built his career in some of the most important regions of the country and in structures directly related to the investigation of crime and the guarantee of public order. Over the years, he has held leadership positions in several regions.
He began his leadership experience in the Shkodra region, where he served as director of criminal investigation. He then took over the leadership of the Police in the Durrës region.
Durrës constitutes one of the most sensitive areas due to the largest port in the country, high economic activity and the large movement of people and goods.
During the period when he led the police structures in Durrës, several serious criminal incidents were uncovered. One of the cases is related to Indrit and Gentjan Beqiraj, whose testimonies helped investigators shed light on several criminal incidents in Durrës, Tirana and other areas. After this stage, Hita led the Fier Police.
