"The prosecutor has no ethical behavior"/ Clashes at Veliaj's
Altin Dumani, Veliaj and Ndreca

The next session of the trial on the merits against Mayor Erion Veliaj and other defendants was held with debates between prosecutors and Veliaj's lawyer.

Altin Dumani stated that, as the prosecution, according to him, the live broadcast of the session does not disturb the process, except when it comes to witnesses, where their exposure would undermine the process.

Debates from the court:

Dumani: Live trial? We, as the prosecution, have no problem, but it can disturb the process. In criminal cases where there are witnesses, especially collaborators of justice, live broadcasts are not allowed. This does not happen in the region, nor in Europe, nor in federal courts in the US. Cameras may be allowed for some footage, but witnesses and collaborators cannot be exposed.”

Nanny: Why are you the only one who wants to speak? Wait, the prosecutor asked for the floor.

Dumani: We have been on the merits for two months now and we are continuing with the preliminary hearings. Veliaj's lawyers are repeatedly submitting artificial requests, in our opinion, with the aim of prolonging the judicial review.

Ndreca: I have shown correctness and professionalism. The prosecutor has no ethical behavior; draw his attention. Tell him that he is an equal party in this process. We have no intention of dragging out the process. The only one being held in prison is Erion Veliaj and he has an interest in this process moving forward as quickly as possible. We do not accept moving forward without a due process.”
