The Special Court has postponed the hearing for Ilir Meta, Monika Kryemadhi and other defendants to May 11.
In the first foundation session since his arrest in 2024, former President Ilir Meta appeared in the glass cage, from where he spoke about a politically rigged trial.
"Lies, slander and false accusations! A shameful process!" Meta was heard saying from inside the glass cage.
The reason for the postponement of the session was the request of Fatime Kryemadhi's lawyer, who earlier requested an interruption of the session because she does not have the power of attorney to request a summary trial.

Earlier, lawyer Kujtim Cakrani's request that the former President not be kept in a cage was rejected by the court for security reasons.
Addressing reporters, the lawyer said: "You see, it's not referring to Sarkozy, but to the case of an Algerian terrorist."
Kujtim Cakrani also faced opposition in the courtroom.
"Only ISIS humiliated people like this. This kind of treatment is to the shame of everyone, to the shame of the new justice system. I know you will overthrow it, but I want to argue how. I cannot talk to the president as long as we are separated by glass. We are not equal like this. Just as I have a well-founded request, I also want your decision to be well-founded. In halls like this, Nexhmije Hoxha and Ramiz Alia were tried as criminals. And yet they were not like that. They were treated with more dignity," he said.
Meta, who is accused of money laundering, passive corruption and concealment of assets, has requested that court hearings be broadcast live to the public, in order to guarantee full transparency.
Monika Kryemadhi was also in the hall, who did not greet Meta in the cage, who was meanwhile signing the declaration for allowing cameras.
