
The Tirana police have finalized the police operation coded "Villas" and have seized real estate, worth about 1 million euros, owned by the citizen Fran Merdhoçi.
It is suspected that the wealth has its source from criminal activity in the field of narcotics.
Pursuant to this decision, real estate was seized, specifically 2 villas in Dobresh, Tirana, owned by Fran Merdhoçi, 57 years old, and his family members.
The Court of First Instance for Serious Crimes in Tirana has sentenced Merdhoç to 10 years and 6 months in prison for narcotics trafficking, carried out in cooperation.
" In the framework of the criminal proceedings for the identification and seizure of assets derived from criminal activities, referred by the Money Laundering Investigation Section of the Local Police Directorate of Tirana, to the Prosecutor's Office at the Court of First Instance of the General Jurisdiction of Tirana, police operation codenamed "Villas".
Pursuant to this proceeding, the decision of this Prosecutor's Office was executed, for the imposition of preventive sequestration on real estate in the name of citizen Fran Merdhoçi, 57 years old, and his family members.
Pursuant to this decision, real estate was seized, specifically 2 villas in Dobresh, Tirana, the value of which reaches about 1 million euros.
From the investigative actions, it is suspected that the seized assets have their source from the criminal activities carried out by the citizen Fran Merdhoçi, whom the Court of First Instance for Serious Crimes Tirana has sentenced to 10 years and 6 months of imprisonment, for drug trafficking, committed in cooperation." - said in the announcement.
