Democratic Party MP, Ivi Kaso, commented on Prime Minister Edi Rama's proposal to reduce the number of MPs in Parliament, bringing it to 101.
"Why 101 and not 102? It wants to involve us in a game of squash. We have a political force that claims to be the majority, since we do not recognize it as legitimate, since it has taken it from the alliance with crime. "De facto" today they have 83 mandates in the Assembly. Even if the elections were free and fair, 83 mandates are not enough for constitutional changes.
"There is no political reason to change the Constitution. There is no need to change the Constitution. Rama invented the number 101. The Prime Minister, not dwelling on any of the reasons that led us to have 140 deputies, with the sole purpose of creating smoke and dealing with Rama's pumpkins, we need 101, 99 or 90, has thrown the dice," added the Democrat MP.
According to him, "the same prime minister who says that we have more votes than ever in the census, now comes out and says that the number of MPs should be reduced."
