DP protest, Indrit Vokshi: It is not the right path! It should have used SPAK as

Analyst Indrit Vokshi commented on the protests that the DP has launched in front of the Prime Minister's Office, saying that it is not the right path. He emphasized that the DP, with previous protests, has managed to bring its militants to the fore, but added that this is not enough. According to Vokshi, the DP should focus on organizing and identifying figures that will bring the party closer to the voter.

"I think it's not the right path. I know the DP because I used to be there. The DP held 10 major national protests in 2019. No political product. You expose your structure and militants. But Albania is not just your militants. A party should have dealt more with organizing, identifying personalities and figures who would be capable of establishing a relationship with the voter for the party. The protest in question is not establishing a new relationship with the voter and is not increasing its votes. The party should focus on improving the quality of its representation," Vokshi told "Report TV".

He also commented on the election of Sali Berisha as one of the vice presidents of the CDI while he was in Brazil. According to him, the DP attempted to use this decision to promote itself by saying that we are being accepted by structures abroad.

"Berisha went there and lobbied and was elected one of the 17 vice presidents. It is something normal for a political party that has been isolated in the last 4 years and a lot for Berisha to boost the morale of himself and his remaining followers to say that the structures in the world are accepting us. But the abuse was in the part where they said that he is the vice president of all right-wing parties in the world, which is not true that conservative parties are grouped in the IDU, founded in London," he said.

He also commented on the recent developments by SPAK, and the attacks it is giving to high-ranking officials, most recently Belinda Balluku. Vokshi called it a paradox that an opposition leader who says every day that he will fight the government, comes out and attacks the Special Prosecution Office when he should have come out in support of it for the fact that it is investigating and cracking down on corruption at high levels. According to him, the DP should have SPAK as an "ally" to crack down on the government.

"I think that the DP should use SPAK as an ally. That a party that has identified the ruling party as an opponent cannot come out and say and accuse the Prosecution of attacking the ruling party. It is an absurd position, because on the one hand you say that the government is corrupt and when you take the ministers of this government to court, you also say that it is a criminal organization. But a party must maintain a regular pro-law stance. Berisha does this because he himself is under investigation. And there is a kind of conflict of interest," added Vokshi.
He further touched on a statement by Ilir Alimehmet regarding the DP membership list. Vokshi said that the DP has always had a problem with fictitious membership. He made a stinging comment when he said that the young people of the DP deal with peripheral problems, and attack everyone around but not Berisha.

"The DP has always had the problem of fictitious membership. It is not a new problem, but the person who says it is new. At a certain point, it had 104 thousand members, with their families alone, you take power three times if you have an active member. What I don't like about the young people of the DP is that they deal with peripheral problems, they attack anyone around, under Mr. Berisha and never deal with Mr. Berisha. This shows a lack of courage and political character. Berisha is the party leader, he continues there and has no opponent. These have become clones of some old politicians who were idols of Mr. Berisha," he said.
