The owner of the bitumen factory that is being built near the national axis Firzë-Sheshi Trageteve-Bajram Curri Avni Byberi was escorted to the police station of Tropoja after he threatened the owner of a resort in the area.
The residents who protested today are noted to have denounced and also contacted the Minister of the Interior, Taulant Balla.
We recall that a few days ago, residents of Fierza protested against the indiscriminate use of inert materials on the side of the road and the construction of the bitumen factory. The bitumen factory is expected to be built near the water supply of this unit, just 50 meters away from the national road Fierze-Sheshi Trageteve-Bajram Curri.
According to the residents, these quarries are also harming tourism, causing environmental pollution and destruction of the natural habitat of the mountains. Residents have protested several times, but work in one of the quarries has not been stopped.
Citizens say that they do not have any legal documentation to exercise this activity. Residents also raise the concern of children who go to school from this road, they feel the danger from heavy machinery that transports inert materials.
