The lawyer Kreshnik Spahiu stated that Fredi Beleri would not have been arrested if he had not been a candidate for Berisha and Ilir Meta, as according to him in this form he would either not have been a candidate or would have been irrelevant.
In an interview for Euronews Albania, Spahiu said that this crisis where they come to protest for the release of the mayor of Himara, the representatives of Greece have Berisha and Meta as their "head" and not Beleri.
" Those who accuse Fredi Beleri are very wrong, this whole crisis does not come from Fredi Beleri, it comes from Sali Berisha and the "Together We Win" coalition. He was a candidate of Berisha. Without Berisha and Ilir Meta, Fredi Beleri would not have been voted for today, nor would he have been arrested. He would not be a candidate, or he would be unimportant.
