Analyst Enton Abilekaj has reacted sharply to the protest organized by Prime Minister Edi Rama in support of former KLA leaders who are being tried in The Hague. In a post on social media, Abilekaj calls the protest a “hypocritical gathering,” filled with political calculations rather than sincere national sentiments.
According to him, the real purpose of this rally is not support for KLA fighters, but Rama's attempt to maintain and expand his influence in Albanian territories, especially on the eve of the runoffs in Kosovo and local elections in North Macedonia.
He emphasizes that instead of slogans in the square, Albanian politicians should take concrete steps, such as a parliamentary initiative to abrogate the Special Court. According to him, anything else is nothing but theater and manipulation of patriotic feelings for electoral gains.
" They couldn't even fill the square, Albania and Kosovo."
People are not so naive as not to understand that this is a rally of hypocrisy, through which Rama seeks to maintain influence in Albanian territories, especially on the eve of local elections in North Macedonia and runoffs in Kosovo.
Ironically, those who voted for, propagated and negotiated the Special Court are gathered there.
"Instead of undoing their mistake with a parliamentary initiative to repeal it, they go out into the open and pretend to be patriots," Enton Abilekaj wrote in a post on social media.
