Altin Dumani responded to MP Flamur Noka, as the latter said that SPAK kept the arrest warrant for Operation "Bridge" in a drawer in order to prevent it from being carried out before the May 11 elections.
Visi i Pojas is still wanted in this operation, but Dumani explained that the decision to execute the measures on May 21 was made in collaboration with Bari.
"There was a joint investigative team between us and Bari. We cooperated with them in the investigation of this case, a successful investigation, we filed the request on March 19, 2025 for the security measure. The decision was given to us on May 5, 2025, on May 7 we met with the prosecutor of the anti-bari mafia case and several DIA investigators. At that meeting it was concluded how the measures would be executed and when ," said Dumani.
When asked if they feel responsible for why gangs linked to the government enjoy freedom, Dumani replied that it is the State Police that executes arrest warrants.
" The responsibility of a prosecutor, having also been the Minister of Interior, is to investigate, collect evidence, conduct a full investigation, file charges and represent the charges in court. In any case, when the prosecutor makes a decision to impose a measure or execute a decision, the only thing the prosecutor does is issue an execution order and send it to the state police. When the person is not found in the territory of the Republic of Albania, the prosecutor is invested with an international search warrant. This has been the practice for the 25 years that I have been in the prosecution ," said Dumani.
