Journalist Artan Hoxha has stated that Edi Rama has attempted to censor Tik Tok, but has failed and for this reason, has decided to shut it down completely for 12 months.
Hoxha said on "Syri TV" that the opposition has more success on this social network and this is hindering Edi Rama's work.
" He has found a thread in Albanians that really touches everyone. Now, why is he doing it at this moment? The main reason is quite clear. Tik Tok is the only network in Albania that cannot be blocked by NGOs or some organizations.
They block you on Facebook, they block you on Instagram. Rama himself does that face to face, on Instagram and Facebook.
Tik Tok has exactly this problem, firstly it is very difficult, impossible to censor. And secondly it is also very difficult to control. And seeing that this thing, because it has tested it in other ways and has not succeeded, then in these conditions, it has fallen short, we introduce a closed one for 12 months.
He could have done it for 3-6 months, but he left it fixed for 12 months.
The reason he published is scandalous. Today, Martin Canaj's father reacted, and said that my son has neither Tik Tok nor Snapchat. Rama has made this decision to block a network that he cannot control.
"Rama has been used to controlling everything since he was mayor. And with Tik Tok he gave and took and couldn't manage it. And considering the greater access that the opposition has there. The opposition and people independent of the majority have access through Tik Tok, they can distribute information in record time and can create a problem for the power industry through this network, especially when we are in an electoral campaign ," said journalist Artan Hoxha.
