Analyst Andi Bushati commented on the US embassy's message about the elections. Bushati said that the embassy's short message neither attacks the elections, which the opposition claims were rigged, nor does it give any bonus to Edi Rama, since it does not mention him at all.
"Rama's media said that America recognized the elections. On the other hand, Berisha's supporters said: look, he gave the elections to Rama, the elections were ruined. The truth is in between these positions. Why? On the one hand, while the embassy congratulates the Albanian people on the elections, an embassy cannot congratulate a people on elections that they have stolen from them. So, the subtext does not presuppose that they are stolen, as the opposition says. This is a blow to the opposition's interpretation.
On the other hand, you brought the 2021 statement, of another administration, allied with Rama. But I made the comparison differently; I asked and said: who has had elections these days? There was a presidential election in Romania. In those, at the Munich conference, the American vice president attacked them as elections where the elite does not listen to the people; and yet, if you read the American statement in Bucharest, he congratulates the elected president by name. Edi Rama's name is missing here. What does this tell us? If they are not pro-opposition, they are not open to Rama. The elections have not punished them, but they do not want to give Rama even the minimum of a bonus for the elections. On the one hand, thank God we have this American silence. These will be the first elections without Americans and this is good news , "said Bushati on the show "The Unexposed".
Bushati said that the embassy's statement leans more towards recognizing the elections, as a stolen people cannot be congratulated. He also spoke about the influence of different administrations on our politics, stating that there is an American pull, which he described as positive.
"If you put it on the scale, it can be interpreted as support. The phrase 'we congratulate the Albanian people'... you congratulate someone, you go home to congratulate them when something has been stolen? A person who has been robbed is not congratulated. So, in the subtext, you do not accept the theft.
Preçi said that there were elections with a lot of America, but these were the first elections without America and I am grateful that they were like that. Albania is better for it. I believe that LaCivita is a private person and has received the money; I do not see it as official America. Officially, it was not present. There were no cowboys who took Basha and Rama. This cowboy America is over.
Those who publish headlines like this; I say that Albania is better off without this kind of America. In my view, there is this evil: I think that the Albanian autocratic regime has been established for these 12 years with American support and patronage.
The history of America shows us so far a great state, a superpower, a hyperpower, that corrects itself. It supports Pinochet and then pulls the plug on him. It supports Saddam Hussein and leads him to the rope. This America that let us fish out Rama's dictatorship, if it were the traditional one... If you saw the speech of the deputy secretary, he said: we will no longer be the correctors. What happens to Albania with America withdrawing? The withdrawal of this America leaves us fishing out that of the democrats.
