This Thursday marks the last day of good, sunny weather. Friday will bring real winter to our country, as the entire territory is expected to be engulfed by rain.
"We have a polar storm, which is descending towards the Balkan region, affecting the Albanian territory as well. It is predicted that Friday will bring many clouds and there will be rain, starting in the north-western part.
The situation will worsen in the evening hours of Friday, as the precipitation in the mountainous areas will be in the form of snow" , said forecaster Hakil Osmani for "Tv Klan".
"In the mountainous areas, mainly the north-eastern ones, including the districts of Kukës, Puka, Peshkopia, it is expected to bring rain in the form of snow, while the rest of the Albanian territory will have rain, which will be sometimes occasionally also in the form of short-term showers.
This will be accompanied by a significant decrease in temperatures where the thermometer will also record low values.
Maximum values are expected to drop to around 18 degrees Celsius. Sunday is expected to bring another drop in values. In mountain towns, minimum values are expected to drop to minus 3 or minus 4 degrees Celsius.
The weekend will bring an improvement in the atmospheric conditions, but the problem will be the wind parameter that will reach up to 55 kilometers per hour", concluded Osmani.
