The flu is back, 11,000 affected per week by respiratory infections; children

January has brought an increased flow of patients with viruses, flu and Covid in health centers.

According to the Institute of Public Health, about 11,000 cases of respiratory infections are registered per week.

"We have a co-circulation of upper and lower respiratory infections", says Eugena Tomini, director of ISHP.

Even this winter, Covid and the flu are co-circulating. As she affirms an increasing trend, the director of ISHP says that in the analyzes carried out, more cases of Covid than of flu are being identified.

"The number of confirmed cases of Covid per week is 40-50. Characteristic of the season, nothing to worry about, because normally we encounter the increased trend of respiratory infections precisely in these weeks, January - February, where the epidemic curve outlines an increasing trend", said the director of ISHP for "Klan Tv ".

Children, the chronically ill and the third age group are the most affected by respiratory infections. To avoid severe cases, vaccination is recommended.

In order not to aggravate the clinical and epidemiological situation, experts advise avoiding places with many people.
