Saranda escapes from Nasipët, the end of the powerful tyrant who covered

Only after a new wave of bold denunciations and public pressure does it appear that concrete action has finally been taken to stop this degradation.

After a series of public denunciations and media investigations, the decision has finally been made to dismiss the head of the Inspectorate of Territorial Protection (IMT) in Saranda, Nasip Hoxha, a name that for years represented not the rule of law, but the most degraded model of clientelism, abuse and institutional mismanagement.

During his years at the helm of the IMT, Nasip Hoxha has been repeatedly accused of having allowed and in many cases directly supported illegal construction in the city of Saranda and the surrounding areas. With a formidable concentration of power and political support behind the scenes, he has acted as a “feudal” of the territory, disregarding every law, urban plan and norm of public administration.

Numerous media and institutional sources speak of over 50 criminal proceedings filed over the years against Nasip Hoxha, for offenses related to abuse of office, falsification of documents, permitting unauthorized construction, and inaction against lawbreakers in exchange for bribes.

During his tenure, Saranda has been transformed into an informal concrete construction site, where permits were handed out in the office as trophies and every square meter of coastline was turned into a commodity to be traded, without any transparency or accountability.

IMT Saranda, which is essentially tasked with protecting the territory from illegal construction, turned under Hoxha's leadership into an instrument of destruction and legalization of illegality.

For corrupt interests and personal favors, thousands of buildings have been permitted without documentation, without technical conditions, and often in protected areas or on the borders of public spaces.

Many honest investors faced obstacles, while others, connected to political individuals or the head of IMT, enjoyed "VIP treatment" in the office.

For a long time, the media has reflected with facts and investigations the systematic violations committed by the head of the IMT, but for years they were silenced or relativized by various state structures.

Only after a new wave of bold denunciations and public pressure does it appear that concrete action has finally been taken to stop this degradation.

In place of Nasip Hoxha, Eduarto Velaj has been appointed, a figure who to this day enjoys a good reputation in the city of Saranda. Velaj is considered an individual with personal and professional integrity, without stains in his career and with a more honest approach to the law and public office.

His appointment has been welcomed by the local community, tired of previous irresponsibility and arrogance. Velaj is expected to face a difficult task: to restore public trust in IMT, stop the surge in illegal construction, and establish order where chaos and corruption have reigned for years.

Nasip Hoxha's dismissal should not be a mere cosmetic move. This act should be followed by a thorough investigation, institutional transparency, and deserved punishment for every legal violation that he and his associates have committed over the years.

The city of Saranda cannot recover from the consequences of such serious mismanagement unless a clear message is given: no one is above the law.

In the future, it is expected that the competent authorities will act and not be satisfied with just the formal dismissal of Nasip Hoxha. Given the volume of accusations, the number of criminal proceedings and the public damage caused by the permission of thousands of illegal constructions in Saranda, his arrest is seen as an inevitable step towards the establishment of justice./ Infront.org
