The Minister of the Interior, Taulant Balla, has suspended the head of the Velipoja Police Station and three officers.
He made this decision after the last two cases where more than 10,000 cultivated cannabis plants were discovered in Velipoja, as well as the seizure of a load of hashish at the Border Crossing Point with Montenegro.
Balla has stated that this is only the first mutual step for turning a blind eye or perhaps even involving them in the border of criminal groups that were waiting to harvest those 10 thousand narcotic plants.
According to the minister, the self-cleansing of the State Police from anyone who betrays this war will continue every day, without turning back!
"While in recent weeks the State Police has carried out many local and national operations against the cultivation of narcotics, I am even more convinced that this fight must continue even more strongly, as long as again and again, one by one, cannabis is recovered head as soon as the police turn their head away. I've said since my first day on the job that a cannabis root doesn't stand a chance of growing without a policeman being paid not to see it, or that a plot of cannabis doesn't stand a chance of being harvested without a boss being paid by traffickers to not removed or checked at a border crossing point.
The attack on another case of cultivation of narcotic plants, in Velipoja, where over 10,920 suspected narcotic cannabis sativa plants were destroyed, also highlighted the responsibility or turning a blind eye of the relevant structures of the local Police. The immediate suspension of the Chief of the Velipoja State Police Station, together with three other police officers at this station, is only the first mutual step for turning a blind eye or perhaps even involving them in the criminal groups who were waiting to harvest them 10 thousand narcotic plants. Therefore, the self-cleansing of the State Police from anyone who betrays this war will continue every day, without turning back!
Also, starting from the cases of the seizure of narcotics at the border crossing points, the Police Surveillance Agency and the General Directorate of the State Police in cooperation with the Prosecutor's Office must fully investigate the entire journey from the moment of cultivation or entry into the territory of our country , to bring out the responsibility of those directors, chiefs or police inspectors who have not done their duty", announced Balla.
