In Himare, a protest has been organized for Fredi Beleri, the mayor elected in the May 14 elections.
In relation to this issue, there has been a great commitment from the Greek side, which has reached the point where it has "threatened" to hinder the European integration of Albania, if Beleri is not released.
Analyst Mentor Nazarko, in an interview for the "Special Report" show, said that Greece lacked commitment in Himara.
"Yes, because just imagine for a moment if the mayor of Athens was not participating there, or the buses with stimulated voters with Greek voters in Himara, or in the current protest.
Imagine what would have happened had it not been for the visit of the Greek MP to Beller's cell.
This is an aggressive approach and in a view with this protest we have the Greek commitment to the Beleri issue. On the one hand, we have the collection of legal materials that would complete a file that would internationalize the case.
On the other hand, it is development in the internal plan, because Greece lacks internal commitment.
Beleri is elected by the citizens and if there are no protests from these citizens, the Greek engagement would be ridiculous," said Nazarko.
Fredi Beleri was chosen as a candidate for Himara by the "Together We Win" coalition, but for Nazarko, Beleri is not the most representative figure for Himara, but came from a party that is dying, as its causes no longer have a place and are unable to kept alive brings back a figure with many shades of light.
According to him, the left also made a serious mistake by re-candidating Goro again, since it was obvious that he had no support.
"I have defended the views that Beleri is not the most representative figure for Himara. I was reading an article by Petro Markos about how he sees the Greekization of Himara. The Greekization of Himara has become the money of the Albanians.
Today, in fact, it is not the same situation. The situation is very colorful, which took a negative direction with Beler's candidacy.
Choosing to run for Beleri, PBDNJ is a dying party. And unable to keep alive, a figure with many shades of light returns.
It will have to be admitted that the left made a grave mistake by reconfirming Goron as a candidate. He didn't seem to enjoy Himara's support.
Something should also be underlined, Greece always keeps a card in reserve for international relations. I want to hope that Rama is clear about the repercussion that may occur from the internationalization of this issue," added the analyst.
Regarding what is expected to happen with this issue, Nazarko said that Albania's European integration process does not suffer from a Greek veto, since according to him, Albania is no longer what it was before.
The analyst stressed that our country should face Greece on this issue.
"Greece is fighting for internationalization and is also working on the internal plan. The process of internationalization implies a conflict between what are fundamental rights and the presumption of innocence.
According to Greece, these two rights cannot be violated until there is a final decision.
A fight for time, even in accordance with the electoral code, to make the 6-month period run where Beleri cannot exercise his duty.
I imagine that Albania does not suffer for the integration process from a possible Greek veto. Today's Albania is not as weak as it used to be, when Himara could become a problem for integration. Albania must face Greece and clarify the situation calmly" concluded Nazarko.
