Albania will hold the Sixth Intergovernmental Conference in Brussels today, September 16. The conference is expected to start at 08:00 and will be co-chaired by Prime Minister Edi Rama and Danish Minister for European Affairs, Marie Bjerre. We recall that Denmark holds the rotating presidency of the European Union.

The meeting will serve to open negotiations with Albania on Cluster 4 "Green Agenda and Sustainable Connectivity", including chapters 14 (Transport Policy), 15 (Energy), 21 (Trans-European Networks) and 27 (Environment and Climate Change).

The meeting in Brussels is expected to be co-chaired by Prime Minister Edi Rama and Denmark's Minister for European Affairs, Marie Bjerre.

According to the agenda, the Intergovernmental Conference is expected to start at 08:00, while the press conference is scheduled for around 09:15 and the EU General Affairs Council will follow at 10:00.

Initially, the parties are expected to start by approving the agenda, approving the minutes of the previous IGCs held in April and May of this year.

This will be followed by opening speeches, first by Danish Minister Bjerre on behalf of the EU Council presidency, then by Prime Minister Rama and the opening of negotiations for Group 4.

The Danish Minister will present the so-called "EU Common Position", as agreed by the EU, and will ask Prime Minister Rama if Albania can agree to the opening of this group.

Enlargement Commissioner Marta Kos will also give her remarks in this regard. Prime Minister Rama will present Albania's position.

At the end, there will be some short closing speeches from the EU delegation, Danish Minister Marie Bjerre and Commissioner Marta Kos, as well as from Prime Minister Rama, with which the meeting will officially end.
