"It is a state murder", Shemsi Prençi on the disappearance of
Martinaj & Prençi

Former senior State Police official, Shemsi Prençi, has made strong statements regarding the fate of Ervis Martinaj, describing his disappearance as a "state assassination."

Invited to the show "The Unexposed" on MCN TV, Prençi linked the event to public statements made over the years by Prime Minister Edi Rama and other senior state leaders.

Prençi said that the public mention of Martinaj by senior officials has turned him into an exposed target, while adding that his disappearance still remains without a concrete answer from institutions.

" I think that the murder of Martinaj is a state murder. Some time ago, Ervis Martinaj was threatened by Prime Minister Rama to let us know his license plate, his car, what he does, etc. There has been a conflict with businessmen and the Prime Minister's family over gambling. And when the Prime Minister says this, this murder will be difficult for the state to discover. I'm not saying that Edi Rama killed him, but if a criminal figure's name is mentioned publicly, he becomes a target for shooting. Then later the Prime Minister said: either find him alive and put him in handcuffs or find him dead and declare him missing. I don't agree with this way of the Prime Minister dealing with the disappearance of people ," said Prençi.

The former Police Chief also harshly criticized law enforcement institutions for the lack of results in the investigation, despite the continuous statements of the government and Interior Ministers over the years.

" After the disappearance of Ervis Martinaj, they were told that within 100 days he would be found. Over 1200 days have passed and there is no answer. When Interior Minister Taulant Balla came, he said that they would make a public statement very soon because they knew Martinaj's fate. Three other ministers have also passed and there is nothing concrete. The incident at Ura e Mati occurred, the attack at TEG occurred where three children were injured and normally those who have a hand in these stories feel worried. The police have identified the conflicts and the people involved. It is possible that elements of the police know the fate of Ervis Martinaj. His father was a businessman and Ervis also paid taxes. If the state has seized assets and collected taxes, then it must also provide answers about his fate. The slowdown in the return of properties shows that the state has a hand in this ," declared Prençi.
