'Disturbing situation' from seasonal viruses, doctor's advice: Do

Pediatrician Valbona Shahinaj, speaking about the health situation in the country, said that we are in the season of viruses, while she advised citizens not to drink too many medications within a few hours, if they are not in a serious condition.

In the show 'This week' on News 24, Shahinaj said that the virus has signs such as lightning, red eyes, sneezing, sore throat or ear pain.

" We are in a virus situation, normally it is winter. It is the season that is most pronounced and visible. There were also in summer, but in winter it is more typical.

There are many viruses in circulation and they are often contagious. Even what we have now is an attached virus, there are several types that coordinate with each other. The most pronounced virus is one, which has a somewhat high temperature.

It is resistant to temperature and also resistant to medicines, so we will wait. A temperature that drops immediately is not good, but should come down gradually.

Paracetamol usually takes effect after 1 hour. We cannot drink two medicines within an hour, because it would be an overdose. At first it seems like it lowers the temperature, but it can cause hyperthermia. If we have given the medicine with the right dose, it takes at least 2 hours to pass before the next medicine is taken.

Of course, it also depends on the body temperature, if it is over 40 it can be done somewhat differently. The virus has signs such as lightning, red eyes, sneezing, sore throat or ear pain. The virus spread before school started, and the start of school made it spread even more.

"I would suggest that parents, if they have a high fever, do not send their children to school. Even adults, if they are sick, should not go to work, because there have been cases where the condition has worsened. We must also think about others, because viruses also spread to colleagues. We have had outbreaks in the past. There have been cases of bronchopneumonia ," she said.
