The Special Court against Corruption and Organized Crime has again left Fredi Beleri in prison, rejecting his request for the replacement of the security measure.
Beleri had asked for a milder security measure. But the jury did not accept this request and left Fredi Beleri in the cell again.
Fredi Beleri is accused of buying votes in Himare for the May 14 local elections.
Beleri has not yet been sworn in, while Greece has threatened Albania that it will block any EU funding and the country's European course if the elected mayor of Himara is not allowed to be sworn in.
