Economy expert Pano Soko commented on the microcredit scandal. Soko emphasized that the scandal happened due to negligence and according to him it affected the poor sections of the population and is therefore serious.
He said that the state should take more responsibility and have the role of controller. Pano emphasized that both ILD and KLJ are responsible for this scandal.
He stated that the state should in no way allow such companies to grant loans without any criteria.
"The microcredit scandal started in 2015, when Albania began to recognize the crisis of bad loans. Small loans are taken by people who don't even have 500,000 old lek. Destroying even poor families is a horror. There were cases when apartments were bought for 3 million. The governor said that there are only 85 complaints and he found few cases. How was he not worried that maybe this thing has turned into a phenomenon. The governor is a "watchman" for the administration of the financial system in Albania. The scandal also happened due to negligence.
Microcredit companies massacred poor families, there were about 103 thousand people who were affected by the scheme. ILD and KLJ also bear responsibility. The MoD is responsible for terrorizing people. How does it make sense for someone else to take your house for 500 thousand old lek? A solution could be for the people who are before justice to get what they deserve and to brush the cases from the mass of abuse. The state should not allow such companies that provide microcredit, without any criteria. If I have the old salary of 700,000 lek, I can't take the installment of 700,000 lek, because I have nothing to eat, the state should have its own regulatory role" , said Soko.
