Lawyer Genc Gjokutaj told reporters that former president Ilir Meta has been arrested in connection with the privatization file of CEZ-DIA, a case that according to him has already been judged by justice.
In a statement from the headquarters of the PL, Gjokutaj, calls this action of SPAK an illegal political attack, on the eve of the next elections.
"The press must understand that it is the same way of treating opposition leaders. The whole purpose is the political elimination of Ilir Meta. Today they are dealing with a CEZ-DIA case that has been tried and for which Meta has given detailed explanations. There is no evidence implicating Meta with this insurance measure. It is a case tried by an accuser who has given false testimony because before the Court and SPAK he was not identical in his confession. This is a blow on the eve of the elections. Dumani has a conflict of interest, as Meta has denounced encrypted messages. In these cases, those are the elements that make this process illegal. In 5 years, what has changed in these acts? The goal is political and not at all legal ," said Gjokutaj.
The lawyer added that the arrest of Ilir Meta was made to deal a political blow to the opposition before next year's elections, writes A2 CNN.
