The General Director of Prisons of Albania, Klevis Qose, in the Security Commission also spoke about a serious event that happened in December of last year, where Sokol Mjacaj killed Arben Lleshin inside the prison.
Klevis Qose said that the weapon with which the murder was committed was smuggled into the prison, while he said that the investigations have not yet been completed.
According to him, an in-depth analysis has been carried out by the Directorate of Prisons and the administrative investigation has begun until the completion of the criminal investigation.
"On December 15, 2023, a prisoner was killed with a pistol by another prisoner in the high security prison in Peqin. Regarding this event, the circumstances of the commission, cooperation and the way the weapon was smuggled into the prison, an in-depth investigation is being carried out by the Prosecutor's Office. Several employees have been investigated for their actions and interactions, but so far the investigations have not been completed. As for the actions taken by the Directorate of Prisons, an in-depth analysis has been carried out and the administrative investigation has begun until the completion of the criminal investigation" , said the Director of Prisons.
