The case of Fredi Beleri, the elected mayor of Himara, who was arrested two days before the May 14 local elections, on charges of vote-buying, has had consequences in relations with Greece.
Athina insistently demands and is putting pressure by threatening and obstructing EU integration that Beleri be allowed to take the oath, even though he is in prison while the Rama government has declared that it cannot interfere in the justice issue. But what do Albanian citizens think about this issue?
Asked by 'Report Tv', in collaboration with pollster Eduard Zaloshnja, most of them are against Fredi Bleler's oath. Specifically, according to the results of the survey, 75.0% or 1,530,000 citizens are against Fredi Beleri's oath. 7.1% or 145 thousand are in favor, 10.3% or 210,000 say 'Maybe Yes' and 7.6% or 155,000 say 'Maybe no'.
