The recount process for parties and candidates in the Tirana district will resume today. This is the fifth day of the recount, and so far 437 boxes out of 1,282 in total have been opened. The results so far show that there were errors, but that there is no trend that could lead to a change in mandates.

According to data from the CEC, the DP has so far received 219 votes without merit, which will be deducted from the first count (they may be invalid votes or votes that were taken from small parties). The PS also has 193 votes that it has received without merit since May 11. The Albania Becomes initiative also lost 26 votes, which it turns out were added to in the first count. Tom Doshi's PSD has also so far had 23 votes deducted from the first result.

Meanwhile, Lulzim Basha's coalition has 13 votes added to it, which it turns out they received from the first count. Enkelejd Alibeaj's coalition also turns out they received 7 votes from the first count, which are added to it with the recount.

Regarding the situation of candidates within the parties, the recount shows that Ilir Alimehmeti, who also launched a legal battle for the recount, received 61 unmerited votes in the first count. Jorida Tabaku, who defeated Alimehmeti, has so far received 22 unmerited votes, while Ilir Meta has 28 unmerited votes.

In the Socialist Party, Minister Ervin Hoxha received 193 votes without merit, Xhemal Qefalia with 125 such votes, which will be removed from the first count. Fatmir Xhafaj also received 82 votes without merit, Olta Xhaçka who won against Blerina Gjylameti has 34 votes that will be removed from the first count. To the latter are added three votes that appear to have been taken from her from May 11.
