The Special Prosecution Office has requested three more months to continue the investigations against former socialist MP Jurgis Çyrbja, as it is still awaiting responses to several letters sent to partner agencies abroad.
The request for an extension of the deadlines was presented at the session held this Tuesday (April 15), while Çyrbje's lawyers requested time to familiarize themselves with the Prosecution's materials.
The hearing for a final decision was scheduled for Friday.
Çyrbja has been in pre-trial detention since the fall of last year, suspected of intercepted communications on the encrypted chat platform SKY ECC with members of the Shijak-Durrës criminal groups.
He was arrested on October 20, 2024 in Durrës, and the GJKKO has imposed the security measure "prison arrest" on him, while so far it has rejected any request for its mitigation.
