SPAK issued several security measures for the staff of the Agricultural University of Tirana, including the two Vice-Rectors, Ilir Kapaj and Romina Koto.
Against Ilir Kapaj, at the request of SPAK, the GJKKO imposed the security measure 'compulsory appearance'. Kapaj is the husband of the Deputy Minister of Education, Ana Kapaj.
Ilir Kapaj holds the position of Vice Rector of the University for Teaching, while Vice Rector Romina Koto is responsible for relations with institutions and the public at the Agricultural University.
" From proactive investigations with special methods such as; wiretapping of telephone conversations of officials of the Agricultural University of Tirana (UBT), observations conducted by the State Police and administration of documentation of procurement procedures, with the contracting authority of the Agricultural University of Tirana, up to this stage of the investigation, nine procurement procedures conducted in 2022, with a procurement value of 90,000,000 (ninety million) lek, have been investigated within the framework of this proceeding, " SPAK announced regarding the latest action.
Meanwhile, on Wednesday morning, at the meeting of the Socialist Party Parliamentary Group, the Rector of the Agricultural University will appear at his request, in a hearing session.
This hearing follows the one with Socialist MP Klotilda Bushka.
Prime Minister Edi Rama announced in a post on social networks that "tomorrow at 09.00 the Parliamentary Group of the governing majority will hear at his request, the Rector of the Agricultural University, Fatbardh Sallaku, regarding 24 security measures WITHOUT TRIAL for the staff and lecturers of the university for several procedures from several years ago in a total amount of less than 30 million lek! The rector himself, who is not connected to this investigation, speaks of a very big misunderstanding and asks to be heard publicly, at a turning point in history for the Agricultural University that has entered the path of transformation with the aim of full recognition of diplomas with the BOKU University of Vienna in Albania2030".
