The Audiovisual Media Authority has today fined the TIBO television platform, which has been accused by many television operators of stealing programs.
In this Wednesday's meeting, the board of the Audiovisual Media Authority rejected the appeal of TIBO, which was sentenced on November 2 with a 2 million Lek fine, and ordered TIBO to immediately stop broadcasting programs without broadcasting rights.
Of the 7 members of the board, only two of them went against it, Besian Zogaj and Jetmir Halilaj. The other 5 members have voted to leave in force the administrative measures against this platform, which has a very problematic history with breaking the law and stealing programs and productions of other television operators.
The two votes against come despite the fact that everyone in the AMA knows and recognizes TIBO as a platform that openly pirates and by violating the law, its operating license is also at risk. From a monitoring of only two days, TIBO has shown that it has broadcast the exclusive programs of other television platforms without any rights.
This is not the first time. The AMA often did not take penal measures against TIBO, which has continuously pirated by stealing broadcasts for which it does not have the exclusivity, such as the European football championships, but also broadcasts and productions of other televisions, such as "Big Brother".
