Lawyer Redi Ramaj spoke about the arrest of the former mayor of Himara, Jorgo Goro. He said he risks up to 7 years in prison.
The lawyer said that depending on the circumstances and health conditions of Jorgo Goro, but also on the investigations, a medium sentence between 1-7 years of prison can be imposed.
"The main or only charge against Jorgo Goro is abuse of office, which carries a sentence of up to 7 years in prison. It is a criminal offense that many mayors have been convicted of this criminal offense.
Depending on the circumstances, the evidence and a long discussion until the final sentence, the court has time to decide, but I think there will be something in the middle between this sentence, taking into account the personal and health circumstances of Jorgo Goro. If proven guilty, Goro will receive a prison sentence of up to 7 years," said Ramaj to "Euronews Albania".
