Former Albanian weightlifter Pirro Dhima, the confirmed candidate for MEP of "New Democracy", during his speech did not fail to mention the case of the elected mayor of Himara, Fredi Beleri.
Fredi Beleri's son and his brother were present at the presentation of the candidacies in Athens. Dhima addressed Beler's son, saying: "Petro, justice will be given to your father."
Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis has nominated Beleri in the June European elections. Although there were voices for and against, he included the elected mayor of Himara, sentenced to 2 years in prison in Tirana. Beleri himself sent a message at the presentation ceremony, where he provoked together with his son. They teach the Hellenization of Albania again.
"Today, Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis offered me the opportunity to ask for the vote of the Greek people in the European elections of June 2024. I thank him for that, but above all I thank him for the undivided support he gave me during all these months that I was in prison. The battle I am fighting is not personal. It is a battle for the rule of law and democracy, the rules of which must be respected by all. It is a battle for the values that the West and Europe stand for and which must be respected by those who want to join the great European family. It is a battle for the most suffering and unjust part of Hellenism, the Greek minority of Albania.
My brothers who, after decades of oppression, want and have the right to live freely and peacefully, without fear, in a country that respects their rights, honor and property. I call on every Greek and woman to support the New Democracy vote, to support the prime minister who is building a strong and proud Greece, Kyriakos Mitsotakis, with determination and method ," says Beleri's message.
Present at the podium to welcome the candidacy was Beler's son, who provoked the Hellenization of Himara: " I am very touched, my mother who has stayed all this time, my sister and all the Himariots who were and are on we. I thank the New Democracy, honored Himara, honored Hellenism in Albania, honored the tradition of his family. I also thank those who stood by us in our just fight for my father's freedom. No one can play with the power of Hellenism" .
