Edlira Çepani has described the mention of her name as one of the possible candidates for Tirana mayor by the opposition as a nice surprise.
Invited to "Goca dhe gra", she said that when she heard her name mentioned for the Tirana competition, it was unexpected, but a nice surprise.
" I hadn't considered it before, I've been involved in politics for several years because I work with girls and women from political forces, but I hadn't thought about it myself. It was a nice surprise. I appreciated that they proposed it to me. This was one of the people's requests, I have the impression. It was a push from the people in my name ," she said.
But if they had nominated him, would he have run?
"When people ask for it and push it, it has to be respected ," she said, adding that she saw it as a realization of the vision of her husband, Gert Bogdani, who passed away prematurely.
" I also saw it as a realization of Gerti's vision for the municipality of Tirana. I made him a promise when life unfairly separated us, that I would continue his mission. He would have supported me if I had run ," she said.
