Tirana Police say that Daniel Shima, former Deputy General Director of AKSHI, has appeared at Police Station No. 1 after being reported missing by his family. He testified that he left of his own free will.
"Following the information provided yesterday, regarding the report of citizen M. Sh., regarding the loss of contact with his son, citizen D. Sh., 34 years old, we would like to inform you that at around 02:00, this citizen presented himself at Police Station No. 1 and stated that he had left of his own free will," the police announced.
Shima was reported missing on Wednesday afternoon by his mother, who went to police station no. 1 with suspicions that he might have been arrested, as in a communication she had had with a relative, he had said that he was being arrested. From the verifications carried out, it resulted that there was no arrest issued against him.
Shima explained that he had fled to the south of the country after a conflict with his partner. However, he did not offer further explanation regarding the message he had sent to his family, where he claimed that he was being arrested by the police.
Meanwhile, according to journalist Elton Qyno, Shima had recently divorced his wife and, in parallel, during this period had begun a love affair with another woman with the initials EH.
Due to the start of problems with his cohabitation with the latter, he is said to have left the apartment, staging a situation with his family as if they had arrested him, disappearing without a trace for several hours.
