The price of electricity for citizens is reduced, the decision effective from January 1, 2025

The government has announced that from January 1, 2025, the price of electricity for citizens will be reduced.

"We have received an order and for a long time we have been working with OSHEE, KESH and OST to estimate a reduction in electricity starting from January 1, 2025. We are a work in progress but we are sure that we will succeed, as of January 1 we offer Albanian citizens a better energy price", said the Deputy Prime Minister.

For days, in meetings with pensioners, Prime Minister Edi Rama himself has stated that the reduction in the price of electricity is being assessed.

"We are also studying a reduction in the price of energy. What I have requested from the Ministry of Infrastructure and Energy is that the pensioners definitely benefit from a reduction, however small. We are doing a study how this affects. But since the economy is on a good path and I hope we don't have any situation that we have been through," said Rama to the pensioners in Korça on October 29.

 Currently, the price of energy is 9.5 Lek per kilowatt without VAT, while with VAT it reaches 11.4 Lek.
