Lawyer Spartak Ngjela, commenting on the arrival of Turkish President Rexhep Tayip Erdogan in Albania, said that it is in Albania's interest to have close relations with Turkey.
In an interview for "Report TV", Ngjela added that the inauguration of a religious object by two political components was something wrong since the Albanian state is secular.
"The closer the relationship with Turkey is, the better it is for Albania. He has been close friends with the Albanian people for years. There are millions of Albanians in Turkey. Our history has been like that, today we have nothing to do with them. We are friends. Every prime minister has a political duty to show the truth of friendship with Turkey. He made a visit, that they built a mosque. It is not normal for our logic of modernism, the state does not deal with religion. He did it as a friendly country. But the prime minister of one country cannot go with the prime minister of another country to inaugurate a religious building. The Albanian state is secular" , said Ngjela.
