Let's start with two comparative facts:
1. The closure of the "Voice of America" broadcaster on the orders of President Donald Trump revealed that this media outlet with worldwide reach and influence had 1,300 employees at the center and correspondents and analysts in many countries.
2. During the reporting that the RTSH Steering Council made to the Media Commission, it was revealed that there are 1200 employees at the center and its stations in Gjirokastër, Korçë, Shkodër and Kukës.
It is enough to compare the number of employees at RTSH's "Voice of America" to understand how many parasites are paid by the state and what a miserable, mediocrity and banality of programming there is.
"Voice of America", which until 10 days ago broadcast 1,500 hours of news per week in 50 languages, was funded by the US State budget and had professional journalists, analysts, and correspondents who did journalism even in countries at war.
RTSH is funded by the state budget and broadcasts 4 times a day for 15-20 minutes of news, with content about the government, politics, and social news copied from portals, but also mediocre programs and rebroadcasts 3-4 times a day, the same documentaries from 15-20 years ago.
The news and programs of the broadcaster "Voice of America" with 1,300 employees have been followed by the whole world, while the news and programs of RTSH are not followed even by Prime Minister Edi Rama, who has publicly stated that he does not watch and will never watch this "shit".
But despite the fact that the prime minister calls RTSH a "scumbag", he gives it 6 million Euros from the state budget every year; allows it to keep 15 million Euros of television tax every year; nearly 2 million Euros in other income and approves its structure with 1200 employees.
The US State Department closed down "Voice of America" even though it had a global following, while the Albanian government, we're not saying to close down RTSH, which even Babloku doesn't watch; but to not pay 1,200 employees who are vegetating and directors, boards that have employed family members and lovers who just steal and sit idle.
The government could self-finance RTSH, according to the scheme of many countries inside and outside the EU, which fund state televisions only 20% of their activity, as an obligation only for state publications and programs, while providing 80% themselves.
