The wife of former police commissioner Gani Malushi, killed in 2003, Esmaja, has stated that she is ready to reopen the case so that the truth can be revealed.
Malushi made the comments on the "Review" show on Euronews Albania, where she said that the loss of her husband was a stab in the back by his colleagues.
She added that the institution of the State Police has degenerated and lost its functionality, due to being caught by crime and internal corruption.
We recall that the former head of the Fushë-Kruja police station, Gani Malushi, was shot with a volley of bullets, causing his death.
" My husband did not pave the way for crime. Crime eliminates you, but not when there is no support. A criminal cannot tell the Prosecutor that we didn't leave it like that. The prosecution dealt only with the criminal and not with the leadership chain of the Durrës District Police. I am convinced, if my interviews will be opened, I will express myself clearly, the state has a hand here.
I have been ready and am ready to seek justice and investigate the fatherless colleagues. This show of yours being triggered by the words of the minister who says that they existed even before, I am ready for the truth to be revealed. It hurts me a lot, I live with the Police, I follow it all the time, but the problem is that it will take a long time, the police cannot be run with the old spirit, it must be fundamentally restructured", she said .
She then said his loss was a stab in the back from his colleagues: “Everyone on the panel has been punched in the back and is telling the reality of what they've experienced. I agree with the opinion there that if you didn't like the profession and if you are not an idealist, you have no money to go on. In the police force, by cleaning all the capable people and introducing young people, they degenerated the police force, which lost its function.
Losing my husband is a stab in the back of his colleagues. I have asked all the structures for this matter to be resolved and I have never had an answer, to be told, madam, that a disaster has happened to you, but the reality is like this. Many policemen are betrayed by the structures, friends, or colleagues. Today is the day for the truth to come out. Whoever abuses should go where he is abused, but not in the Police structures" .
