The session at the Court of General Appeal against Arbë Paplekaj and other persons in connection with the murder of Pjerin Xhuvani in April 2021, has been postponed to February 14, at 12:30 p.m.
Paplekaj was sentenced to 22 years in prison by the Court of First Instance in Elbasan for 'murder in qualifying circumstances'.
Paplekaj was not present at Tuesday's session, as he was defended by lawyer Marash Martini. The Prosecutor of Appeal, Genti Xholi requested the postponement of the session because the lawyer of Xhuvan's family members was not notified through the official address, but did not appear at the session through the phone.
At the same time, the prosecutor requested the notification once again of one of the persons who was injured during the conflict that occurred a few days before the general elections that were held in April 2021.
Part of this process are also the two former police directors of Elbasan, Albert Nushi and Nikollaq Palla, who were sentenced to 16 months of probation for abuse of office. The six members of the Shqiponja forces have also received the same punishment for the charge of misuse of duty.
