Agron Kulicaj testified today in the trial against Emiljano Shullazi and the other defendants for the murder of Vajdin Lamaj and Klodian Saliu.
Kulicaj said today in court that: "In 2008 Luftar Reci addressed me with a letter where he talked about some serious events in Dibër such as arms trafficking and murders in Tirana and Durrës.".
He explained to the black squads that after the letter he contacted him in prison together with the two directors Tonin Vocaj and Arjan Kurti. "I did not interview him, because I had a functional duty. The General Prosecutor, Ina Rama, was informed about the case and the case was transferred to the Prosecutor's Office for Serious Crimes," he said. Asked by Shullazi if he mentioned his name in the letter regarding the murder of Vajdin Lamaj, Kulicaj replied; he was mentioning it.
But who was Vajdin Lamaj and how was he executed?
Lamaj, at that time the President of the Boxing Federation and Vice-President of "TOP Albania Radio" was killed as a result of an explosive attack in the building where he lived, near the "Qemal Stafa" stadium.
Due to the explosion, his friend, Artan Arsi, who was with him at the time of the remote-controlled explosion in the elevator, also lost his life.
A few months before the incident, Lamaj had escaped another attack with a gun in the center of Tirana, where two people were injured.
On October 15, 2004, Lamaj escaped the bullets while leaving a TV show as a guest on one of the capital's televisions.
Vajdin Lamaj has had a rich career in police structures, having also held leadership positions. For several years he led the Albanian Boxing Federation, while in his youth he was an athlete in the sport of wrestling.
