The Dibra Prosecution has requested a life sentence for Islam Meta, who killed Petrit Pupla in 2024.
Islam Meta, on January 22, 2024, shot and killed Petrit Pupla, after the latter had injured his daughter and nephew 15 years earlier.
Petrit Pupla was shot by Meta while walking on the street in the village of Vig accompanied by another person. After the incident, the perpetrator called the police himself and left for his home.
Isam Meta's son also stated that his father had an early conflict with the victim, because the latter had injured the daughter of the Meta family. The victim Petrit Pupla was sentenced at the time to 12 years in prison, but again the parties did not agree. Meanwhile, 3 or 4 months before the murder occurred, Islam Meta had warned Petrit Pupla through his uncle not to come to the village, as he would kill him.

The Prosecution Office at the First Instance Court of General Jurisdiction, Dibër, requests the guilty plea and life imprisonment sentence of citizen IM for committing the criminal offense of "Premeditated Murder", provided for by Article 78/2 of the Criminal Code, to the detriment of the victim PP.
From the investigations into criminal proceedings no. 27, registered on 22.01.2024, it resulted that citizen IM shot and killed citizen PP who was walking in the village of Vig with another person. As soon as he committed the act, he notified the police and fled towards his apartment.
The author's son explained that his father had an old conflict with this citizen after he had wounded his daughter and his brother's daughter with a gun, an act for which he was sentenced to 12 years in prison. Although the victim had served his sentence, the parties had not reconciled over this conflict. In fact, recently, 3-4 months before the murder, citizen IM sent a message through his uncle, telling the victim not to go to the village anymore, because if he got the money, he would kill him.
The above resulted in proven that the defendant IM has fully consumed the elements of the criminal offense "Premeditated Murder", provided for by Article 78/2 of the Criminal Code, proven by the conduct of investigative actions. The motive of this criminal event is revenge, after the victim shot and injured the defendant's daughter.
