Elections in Kukës/ Police publishes the plan of measures for tomorrow: 99

Kukës Police has announced the plan of measures taken to guarantee the smooth running of the process for the partial elections that will be held tomorrow in Kukës. 

In this election process, 99 police officers are engaged who will provide the election materials in the 74 voting centers and in the counting place near the CEAZ no. 11 Kukës

" Measures taken by DVP Kukës, for the partial elections of September 24, 2023, for the mayor of Kukës:

The Kukës Local Police Directorate and the Kukës Police Commissariat have taken all measures to guarantee order and public safety during the voting day, to guarantee the rights and freedoms of citizens and subjects that participate in this process, as well as to preserve of objects and materials that will serve this process.

All police personnel engaged in tasks during the election process are trained for the tasks that the State Police has and performs during the election process.

The list of police officers who will be engaged in the election process has been approved by the CEC.

In this election process, 99 police officers are engaged who will provide the election materials in the 74 voting centers and in the counting place near the CEAZ no. 11 Kukës.

Also, to guarantee public order and peace, in the continuation of the services performed by the State Police every day, 78 other police officers have been engaged.

The briefing of all the Police forces, which are charged with tasks within this election process, in the city of Kukës has been done.

Police employees have been asked to show professionalism and correctness in the tasks defined in the plan of measures in terms of securing election facilities and the instructions of the Central Election Commission.

The structures of the Kuka Local Police Directorate and the Kuka Police Station are very determined and committed to keeping the entire territory under complete control, with the sole purpose of the rule of law. In this context, we appeal to all citizens and entities involved in this process, to fully respect all legal obligations imposed by the Electoral Code and other laws. Also, the State Police guarantees the citizens that they have taken all the measures, so that their constitutional right to elect the head of the local government is exercised freely, calmly, unspoiled and not intimidated by anyone", the police announced .

The next day, 46,000 citizens of Kuka Municipality will go to the ballot boxes to elect the new mayor.

There are two candidates in the race for the position of mayor of the city, Emri Vata registered under the slogan of the coalition "Bashke Fitomje" and Albert Halilaj from the Socialist Party, while the official Democratic Party, although it was registered as a competing subject, did not present a candidate.

"There are 74 voting centers in which the voting process will take place in this municipality. Of these, one is in the voting center in the detention facility located in this municipality ," stated the state election commissioner, Ilirjan Celibashi.

The partial elections on September 24 will cost about 25 million Lek, but the Central Election Commission has not requested additional funds from the Government.

 " It was not necessary for an additional budget, since the May 14 elections showed that there are savings that enable this election process ," he added. 

The participants in the voting will be given only one ballot, the one for the mayor, since for the municipal council everything remains according to the result of May 14.
