On June 26, 2014, the murder of the banker Artan Santo took place in the area of the former Block in the capital. Regarding this event that shocked the whole country, it continues to be discussed even today.
Two masked people on a motorcycle ambushed banker Santo's car, executing him on the spot, just before he stopped in front of the bank he was driving. Artan Santo was killed with a strong mafia message in front of his office, shaking the foundations of state structures and the Albanian financial market. But who wanted Artan Santon dead and what are the main tracks of the investigation?
Of course, there were interests at play that combined politics, business and the world of crime, contracted to carry out this murder. And precisely the names that had knowledge and according to the information were directly involved in this event, were also some characters of the file 'Metamorfoza 3'. At that time, the 'Nikla Gang' was charged and as stated in the investigative file, two of the members of this group were kept under surveillance. It is about Durim Bami and Marklen Haka. Afterwards, the police also carried out checks in an area known as the base of some of the most crooked characters of the world of crime, where it was clear that characters who knew the territory well were involved.
Referring to the investigative file, the prosecution has also suspected the 'King of gambling', Ervis Martinaj. During checks in several warehouses in the Fushë-Kuqe area, two spacesuits were found, which were suspected to belong to the executioners of Artan Santos. Some of Martinaj's family members were accompanied and interrogated, but were released and the prosecution closed the investigation for Ervis Martinaj by not proving his involvement in this event.

According to information from the State Police, Fushë-Kuqja was not only the base of Ervis Martinaj, but also of Durim Bami. This character had under his patronage a group of shooters from the area of Fushë-Kuqe to Nikël whom he trained at a very young age.
