On April 14, 2013, the Committee for Production Activities, Trade and Environment held a hearing with Petrit Ahmet, proposed by the Selection Team for chairman of the board of the Energy Regulatory Entity, for a fourth term at the head of ERE.
The Selection Team is the Assembly itself and the government, subjects of SPAK.
Law no. 43/2015, "On the Electricity Sector", amended and more specifically article 11, point 2 provides that "The chairman and board members are appointed for a term of 5 years, with the right to reappointment only for a second consecutive term. ..”.
The law provides for two mandates. Ahmeti asks for the fourth. On the other hand, Ahmeti is 68 years old, he has reached retirement age.
This illegal procedure is being done silently to keep a person at the head of ERE, who has been in leadership positions in the energy sector for 30 years, serving the corrupt interests of Ilir Meta, Sali Berisha and Edi Rama.
With a salary of 53 thousand USD per year, Petrit Ahmeti has personally had shares and corrupt interests in private companies in the field of energy, these interests are held in shell form by trusted persons in these companies (such as the company GSA sh.pk, identified with the nephew J61820031J), which comes in an abusive form in the energy sector for years, being itself a key public function.
Not only that, but since 27.04.2010, Petrit Ahmeti is still a co-founder and shareholder with Kastriot Ismailaj in the company ASSET sh.pk, with the company L01628004T, which, together with CEZ-DIA companies, has abusively collected millions of euros in interests in the energy sector for years.
It is not known whether this corrupt episode, which we will talk about below, is being investigated by SPAK.
Throughout his career, Ahmeti is remembered only for abuse of positions and power, shopping and corrupt affairs worth millions of euros.
In May 2028, the Supreme State Audit reported to the Prosecutor's Office the chairman of the Electricity Regulatory Entity, Petrit Ahmet, accusing him of having caused a damage of 9 million euros to the state budget.

The name of the head of ERE, Petrit Ahmeti, is mentioned in the Arbitration file in the testimony of the former director of CEZ in Albania, Josef Hejsek, given on October 26, 2014.
In his testimony, Hejsek claims that it was the former ambassador of Albania in Prague, the late Qazim Tepshi, who recommended Kastriot Ismailaj as a collector of CEZ's external debts.
Then, together with Ismailaj, Hejsek declares that he went to the office of the prime minister at that time, Sali Berisha, where the former chairman of the Energy Regulatory Entity, Bujar Nepravishta, and the current chairman of ERE, Petrit Ahmeti, were also present. , at that time official advisor to the ERE Board.
