In 2012, on the occasion of the commemoration of the 100th Anniversary of the Independence of Albania, the University of Prishtina was named after the National Hero Hasan Prishtina, following the honoring of this great figure, after the installation of his statue on November 28, 2011.
But today's rector of this university and his academic staff, perhaps with some order or political and anti-national bargain, are using the trick and mischief of the university statutory change, to remove the name of Hasan Pristina from the University.
They will not replace it with another name, but they will leave the university without a name; when the great name of Hasan Prishtina does not offend, but honors and elevates the image of this institution, because it is the pride and dignity of all Albanian lands and all over the world where there are Albanians, that the diplomas are named "Hasan Prishtina University".
Why does the rector Qerim Qerimi and the "pebbles" of his staff want to remove the name Hasan Prishtina from the university, when this name does not spoil the image, but gives historical and current dignity to the leaders, teaching staff, students, state, culture and the arming of Kosovo and the entire Albanian nation?!
On this reasoning and therefore; the university of Pristina was named after this personality of the nation, on the historical and national day of the 100th anniversary of the Declaration of Independence of Albania.
Without giving any logical and historical argument, the rector of the university, Qerim Qerimi, treats the madness for removing the name of Hasan Pristina, but treats it as "academic reform and development".
For 11 years, this university has produced students with the name 'Hasan Prishtina', while now they have started the scenarios to remove this name, do you think that the names of those who run the university will remain in history, who this national shame and have presented for voting in the Parliament of Kosovo.
Students, professors, academics, publicists, politicians and civil society from all Albanian lands, but also from the countries where Albanians live, have come out against this adventure that violates national sentiments.
This reaction is led by the "Hasan Prishtina" Foundation in cooperation with the Institute of Albanian Spiritual-Cultural Heritage in Skopje and the Patriotic Cultural Association "Luma", who organized a rally in front of the Rectorate of the University of Prishtina "Hasan Prishtina".
While the slogan of the gathering of students of the University of Prishtina "Hasan Prishtina", is this: "DON'T TOUCH ME HASAN PRISHTINA", but until now, there has been no reflection from the government and other institutions.
There are signals that Prime Minister Albin Kurti may be in agreement with Rector Qerim Qerimi to remove the name Hasan Prishtina from the university; doubt created by Decision No. 10/165, dated 12.10.2023 of the Government of Kosovo with the signature of Albin Kurti, which approves the statutory changes of the University of Pristina, where one of the points is the removal of the name of Hasan Pristina.
It is in the honor of the government and personally of Prime Minister Albin Kurti and the entire parliament of Kosovo, not only not to vote for this madness of the head of the state university of Pristina, but they should suspend the rector Qerim Qerimi from office. /Pamphlet
