For the first time, there was a massive reaction against the import and allowing the introduction into the market without state control of 27 tons of "Di Mal" chicken fillets from Brazil, infected with the Salmonella bacteria that endangers the lives of consumers, especially children.
But even this time, the old police and Justice swindlers with a new mask did not knock on the big boss of AKU, who allowed and hid this food crime, detected 4 times in the last 5 years by the company known by the trade name "Di Mal".
The Tirana police and prosecution prosecuted 3 AKU inspectors and declared the brothers Mondi and Arben Goxha, the owner and administrator of the company "AMG FOOD Sh.pk", wanted, who, according to information, were told to leave before being arrested.
Without a doubt, the 3 AKU inspectors will be found "innocent" like many of their colleagues, while the importers who introduced salmonella-tainted fillets into Albania and onto the market; are bargaining with prosecutors and judges, so that they will surrender themselves and be left with the "Compulsory appearance" measure like the others.
The scandal is the fact that the police and the prosecution did not prosecute and did not indict the General Director of the National Food Agency, Olsi Komici, who was primarily responsible for allowing and concealing the food crime involving chicken fillets.
According to the Criminal Code, the Director of the National Food Authority should be arrested because, through his actions and inactions, he created space and free ground for the owner of the company "Di Mal" to introduce chicken fillets into the market.
The police and the prosecution have as evidence the fact that the director of the AKU, Olsi Komici, had received preliminary official information from European food risk tracking agencies about the infected chicken fillet shipments that were imported from Brazil, before the shipments arrived in Durrës.
But he did not allow the PIK inspectors at Durrës Customs to open the container with chicken fillets, take samples for analysis and physically block them in the customs refrigerated warehouse of the "Di Mal" company in Durrës and place them in police custody until the analysis was completed.
The proof is the fact that director Olsi Komici, in bargaining with customs chiefs, decided that the container with Brazilian fillets would not be cleared in Durrës, but would go through a transit procedure to Tirana Customs, where the AKU did not block them and allowed them to enter the market without the analysis.
Another piece of evidence is the fact that director Olsi Komici did not block the shipments of infected fillets, although in addition to information from European food risk agencies, the AKU itself has the company "Di Mal" in the food risk register, for 4 other cases of import of fillets with salmonella from Brazil in the years 2020-2024, but they allowed it against bargains and orders from the government.
The activity of the company "Di Mal" has not been blocked, and there is even an import process of 100 tons of fillets and chickens coming from Brazil to the Port of Durrës; but the meat warehouses in Novosela, Vlora, which are in the name of another company "MAG.NG Shpk", have not been checked either.
Meanwhile, the director of AKU, Olsi Komici, is not affected by the new Justice, because he did honors when he was on the Vetting Committee; while after the committee was dissolved, Babloku appointed him director of AKU in January 2025 and has already put him as a candidate for deputy in Librazhd, leaving him still in office./ Pamphlet
